I just learnt how to etch on You Tube (if you're interested, look up "Beaducation etching base metals" and it has a 15 minute video which showed me clearly and concisely how to do it - it's really easy) but I was looking for inspiration as to what I could make with my new found skill. This book is exactly what I was looking for, and just from flicking through it the first time I was inspired by not only the projects contained in it, but what else I could branch off to make. Exactly what I was wanting, inspiration.Kristen Robinson and Ruth Rae suit my style perfectly - I checked out their blogs, as I do with all crafting type authors before I buy a book to see what their style is like to make sure it's compatible with what I like - and I love their feminine aesthetic. They use metal they've etched along with resin, fabric, sari silk as well as the usual beads etc, so I was more than pleased with what they offered. I'm going to make a few of the projects and got a lot of inspiration for other projects - exactly what I was looking for.So people know, don't buy this book if you're looking for in-depth and detailed etching information, for whilst it does tell you how to etch, this book is more about making feminine style jewelry with etched metal. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Covered some crafts that I will prolly never use *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2019* The first part of the book covered - thoroughly - the process of etching metal. The authors made the process look fun and easy. Then they started using fabric in the projects which required a sewing machine and I do not own one so I was disappointed that there weren't more projects to do w/o using a sewing machine. But, again, the parts on etching metal were great - lots of pics and lots of step-by-step descriptions. I figured this book would be similar...and I would thumb through it and find little of use to me. I find it difficult to follow other folks patterns, and figured since this was step by step I wouldn't like it at all. Well I was so wrong. There are so many things I love, many new ways to use metal and resin along with etching information. Great photos, good lists for products, nice tips. Actually I am loving this book.
