Review: Great fir 96 XJ - Really happy with this 3" lift kit for my ’96 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Everything fit really well and the installation went smoothly. The 3" lift gives me plenty of clearance for my 31" tires without going overboard. The Jeep has a much better stance and looks great. Definitely a solid upgrade for the money. Very happy with the fit, clearance, and overall results! 5 stars! Highly recommended.
Review: Great low budget lift - I installed my kit in about 2.5 hours. But I also had a shop lift to lift my Jeep with. I'm removed all but the longest leaf and buffed the rust from the contact points between them with a wire wheel grinder and applied some synthetic caliper grease at those points as well to minimize the possibility of squeaks. You will need to remove the sway bar links and use a spring compressor in order to install the front springs. I replaced my links at this time too. To get the track bar to bolt back to the right side you'll need to use a ratchet tie strap to drag the body to the right while the axle is dropped all the way down on jack stands to support the frame/suspension, or, purchase the adjustable track bar. Lubricate all contact points with synthetic grease too. This kit is really easy to install and an awesome kit for a low budget lift. My 260,000 mile suspension was worn out and the springs were collapsed at all 4 corners. I had an even 3+" at all 4 corners after completion and installed some 255/70/18 Duelers on 2007 O.E. Jeep wheels, replacing my 235/75/15 Wranglers and have no clearance issues at all. I did need to add hub adapters to go from a 4.5" to 5.0" wheel pattern to fit those wheels though.

**Q: Are the one ply leafsprings enough for my jeep? I know the ones i have now are almost flat.**
A: My ‘98 Jeep Cherokee XJ had about 2” of sag in the back end. The previous owner put a tow hitch on and wore out the rear leaf springs. When I installed the rear leaf, I added also another leaf from a factory leaf pack from another Cherokee. I used the second to smallest one. It brought the back up just a touch above the front. This suited me well because I would like to tow with my Jeep.

**Q: Can I use 33 inch tires with this kit?**
A: I believe the answer is arguable. I had a 1992 Jeep Cherokee XJ that I installed a 5” lift kit on. My first set of tires were 35”. Once I wore that set of tires out, I downsized to 33” tires. Technically, the 35” tires fit, I could drive down the road, turn corners and drive over speed bumps without any rub issues. With that said, if I wanted to go drive off-road the larger tires wouldn’t allow the full articulation needed without rubbing. I believe the answer would be the same with this lift and putting 33” tires. Technically, it’s possible but if you wanted to use all of the possible articulation in an off-road setting, you’ll experience rubbing. I’m on my second Jeep and I put this kit in it. The maximum tire size I’m going to use is 31”X10.5”.

**Q: what's the difference between the (part#)  670N2 and the 670XN2 kits**
A: The 670XN2 comes with longer lower control arms and sway bar drop brackets in addition to everything that is included in the 670N2 kit.  I have read that the axle only moves back about 1/4" so I'm using the stock lower control arms.  I ordered the sway bar bracket separate.

Really happy with this 3" lift kit for my ’96 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Everything fit really well and the installation went smoothly. I installed my kit in about 2.5 hours. But I also had a shop lift to lift my Jeep with. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy install, great price

Very simple install. Unbolt lower control arms and have someone stand on the brake rotor to push front end down and slide the coil spring in the front. Shocks are easy too. Only thing that I disliked was that it did not come with new u-bolts. To anyone using this, go to the nearest store or online and order some extended u bolts. Do not re use the old ones. But anyway, it gave the Jeep a good amount of lift and I trimmed my fenders and cut and folded the rear and I clear 33’s just fine. Very impressed with the price and quality of this lift.
