Review: Not worth the aggravation!!!! - This product is not worth the money spent or time wasted trying to get it set up and running. After several weeks of failed attempts to get it to connect to the computer and the app, with multiple useless calls to customer service, we finally were able to establish a stable connection. However, the unit itself only lasted for 21 months before it completely quit working. The gaskets and O-rings have failed allowing moisture into the circuit board and solar panel housing. There is now corrosion on the board and visible burn marks on the circuitry. The battery housing also collects water. We live in an incredibly dry climate during the summer months and only receive moisture during a few winter months, meaning it only lasted thru approximately 6 months total of inclement weather. For being a weather station it isn't very weather proof!!!!!!!! After some doctoring it would appear we have coaxed back to life, but the solar panel will not charge the batteries and we are now forced to change them out regularly. which also becomes a time sink and added expense. I would not recommend this product. Review: Accurate and easy to install and hook to the internet. - The ambient weather station was easy to assemble. The weather hub to hook to your wifi easy to install and to calibrate barometric pressure. The dashboard is nice on your PC and the app works great. I can get instant weather information and the Ambient weather network you can share your data to the network and see all the weather stations in your area. Is snow included in measurement?** A: No snow is not measured unless it melts on the unit. Precip is rain or mist that collects and falls in. **Q: I assume the Lightning Detector does not show up on the display unit?** A: The lightning detector will shown on the main display **Q: does this unit need to connect to a wifi network to be able to transmit the data to mobile app?** A: Yes. And the wifi network has to be 2.4 GHz. And once you’ve done that, there are steps to do to connect your station to Ambient Weather and Wunderground. Once you’ve done all that, you can log into Ambient Weather on the app and see your data. **Q: Is the console needed to get the sensor data? Can you get the data from the sensor array using only wifi?** A: The sensor array communicates with the console using proprietary wireless technology. The console uses WiFi to communicate with the outside world, my console transmits to the Weather Underground site. There is *no* link between the console and my desktop PC. I was finally able to connect to my home WiFi network thanks to my provider. Ambient Weather Network Hub is working fine. However, Ambients customer support needs to expand their time of operations. The Ambient Weather Hub won’t connect to my WiFi network despite numerous calls. Also, during assembly, holes don’t line up and it caused a screw to pull out the anchor. Had to wire it together.
