Unfortunately it rained, and rained, and rained so we had to change our camp out to a camp in. This item was packaged well and packaged smartly with an additional cardboard flap to protect the mattress from accidentally being torn if you use a blade to open the package. Since I did indeed use a kitchen knife to open the box it came in, that flapped saved me from ruining this before we even opened it. I was pleasantly surprised at how durable this plastic felt. It was heavy duty and felt tough. This is definitely not the air mattress grandpa used to keep in the basement. It was very easy to set up. While the kids were running around I managed to open it and set it up without any help or them really noticing it happening. I liked that the cord is hidden and that even one handed, holding a toddler I managed to get it fully inflated in just a few minutes. Once it was inflated I was impressed. This thing is taller then my normal mattress and box spring combined. I didn't notice in the photo that it has a built in raised area to be used as a pillow. Now that I've used it a few days I can tell you to inflate it until that pillow is nice and full. My son has been sleeping on it the last few days to "break it in". Hes been camping out in the family room. Hes only 11 but every morning he deflates it and folds it up on his own. It does come with a carrying bag for easy storage.
