We have a lot of them around our house, and even though they are cute, they are destructive! We have already had to replace the air conditioner duct work under the house. It's impossible to keep them out from under the house, and they chew holes in the duct work and build nests. We had a larger squirrel trap, but that did not work at all for the chipmunks, so we were looking for something smaller that would trip more easily when they got in it. As soon as the trap arrived, I set it up, and within 10 minutes we had caught the first chipmunk! Within several days, we had caught 8 of the little varmits! I put one pecan on the hook inside the trap, and a few sunflower seeds outside the trap to lure them. When they go in the trap and try to grap that pecan, SNAP! the trap has them.
