Directions are in "Chinese English" (numerous grammar errors). With that being said, the instruction may as well be written in ancient Sanskrit. The date and time stamp always self resets to default (1/1/2016) which makes it impossible to have a video correspond to the real date and time. Also there are a bunch of A's (AAAAA) at the bottom of the screen for no apparent reason. When I tried to set custom settings, the camera kept recording up to 8 seconds and then a 5 second break and then 8 and 5 second increments thereafter. All in all it does record if you use default setting and that's it. No proximity sensor, g sensor, or parking monitor, etc. can be used without the camera malfunctioning. In my opinion this review is the most accurate assessment of this dash cam.UPDATE: camera now only turns on automatically about 75% of the time. When this happens, I have to push the power button and then it will come on. Cigarette lighter outlet is a solid connection if I'm able to power on manually.
