The magnetic attraction between the two seems about right; not too strong for easy removal, but not so weak that it would be bumped off. If you're concerned about it, I'd recommend keeping the lens hood in place. The adapter and holder are designed to allow the lens hood to be put on and removed easily anyway, so the hood should provide adequate protection. I would definitely recommend this and the filter holder if you have a habit of switching filters often.
