    Very poor braze work holding carbide tips in!  Lasted less than 10 minutes.

This bit managed to drill a total of 14 inches in hard granite when the carbide tips separated from the bit. (less than 10 minutes of drill time with a break to check the bit for heat/wear/chipping at 5 minutes.  It seemed fine at the 5 minute mark ~ 12 inches)The problem seems to be very poor braze work holding the carbide in.  One of the 4 carbide teeth fell out in the hole and chipped two of the others, the 4th carbide tip was so loose we were able to slip it from its slot.  The tool was not over heated, we were taking it slow knowing it was our only bit.By comparison we used a 9/16 bit (from a brand name manufacturer) on the same large Milwaukee 5342-21 drill and drilled a dozen holes ( about 40 inches) with no problem and no apparent wear on the single tipped carbide bit.

It worked fast & quick for me drilling through stone in the ground to insert a fence post in a stone formation.  SDS Max is the more rugged system, more rugged than SDS plus.  I used a heavy duty Bosch SDS Max hammer drill with it.  The price is reasonable for SDS max, which type of drill bit seem extremely expensive to me.  I was using SDS plus bits with my SDS max hammer drill, but the Bosch adapter went bad.  I got another adapter, but I don't know if it will be a continuous problem trying to use cheaper SDS plus bits instead of SDS max.

Finally got around to using this bit. Accidentally hit a little rebar, And the end of the bit fell into pieces. After inspecting it it looks good but the welds on the top are just slightly welded. Had to run to a local supplier to pick up a Milwaukee version of this bit. And it went through the concrete a lot faster than this one.
