I bought mine almost 3 years ago and have had no problems with it. I've changed the batteries, but the rest of it has held up really well. The newer version was extremely disappointing. The beam has a yellow center instead of white, making close up visuals difficult, however, with little affect on distances. The most disappointing of all was that this flashlight lasted 1 1/2-2 months.
