Great bag! **Q: Are the sleeves inside removable?** A: The sleeves are not removable. It’s a great bag. **Q: Does this bag have room to put a mini cutting mat? A pocket to slip it into?** A: If your mini cutting mat is smaller than the overall dimensions of the bag, you can store it loosely inside the bag. The largest interior zippered pocket could fit a mat sized no larger than 7 3/4" x 11". The other alternative is to store a mat in the exterior pocket, but obviously you would not be able to zip it. The widest rigid object that would fit in the exterior pocket could be no wider than 11 1/4", although I was able to barely insert my Olfa 11 x 17 mat which is flexible into the exterior pocket. The 11 x 17 mat measures out at 11 3/4" x 17 3/4" and extends well above the top of the bag. Even with the mat in the exterior pocket, the bag is still easily carried by the handles. Hope that helps. While not designed to hold large canvases, it holds everything else: scissors, threads, needlepoint and cross stitch tools, smaller canvases, books (smaller paperbacks), your phone, various sewing gadgets, stitch guides, and most things you might want to keep handy when sewing or crafting. I love the different sized pouches for both large and small items. The color I chose (purple) is rich and vibrant. Every part of this bag is beautifully made and very sturdy. The handles are long enough to place it over my shoulder, leaving my hands free to carry other items if needed. Love the double zipper, too. I plan to embroider my name on it because I will be using it for many years to come!My husband and I went on a long cruise and having this along with me really made the trip even more fun. Everyone who saw me using it wanted to know where I got it! It's not the cheapest bag but I can honestly say the price is worth it for what you get. Turquoise is stunning!UPDATE: June 18th- I use my bag to carry two sets of rulers for domestic ruler quilting. I still have room left over! I looked at the Yazzii site and it indicates 50% of these bags are handmade on domestic machines, and quilted as well individually. This is a high quality bag! If I were to spill anything on it, I could wipe it right off. Material is not indicated in the specs, It has a great feel like a HEAVY cotton....and the color is vibrant, zippers are excellent, double exterior zipper, outside pocket zipper and heavy gauge vinyl is used for the clear pockets. I am ready to buy another for my Featherweight supplies!
