One drop per ounce does recreate the perfect 'lightly cucumber flavored' water that I was paying about a buck fifty for in the supermarkets. As for the negative reviews, I can only say that I did not taste any other chemical flavor other than cucumber. I do not know if it is because I have a well, and there are no chemicals added to my drinking water which may be inadvertently affecting these drops, but with my water, there is nothing but the light cucumber flavor. My only complaint is that the bottle is so small. It's great to take with you when traveling or dining out for when you want the cucumber water taste on the go, but when I'm drinking a few quarts of water a day, these drops do not last too long.
