The strap is one sided leather, one sided cloth, so it's both comfortable and durable. No icky red marks on my skin. The strap is adjustable. I'm 5'8 and it's plenty long enough as a messenger bag on the front, hip, or back. The bag has a full zip closure on top. The strap + zip closure makes it perfect for travel and safety. I cannot emphasize how much I love the size of this. It holds a small, smartly packed med bag /first aid kit for my son (epi pens, liquid steroid, 2 inhalers, liquid benadryl, eye drops, bandaids, and ibuprofen). Bag also holds my 14 pro max iphone, sunglasses, a small Berliner card wallet, keys, tissues, and hand sanitizer.
