Soft from the start, color does not rub or fade, strong, nice brass snap. I was using nylon and biothane leash. My trainer suggested trying leather. I was hesitant as I have a strong puller and was afraid of breakage. I am confident this leather leash is strong enough to hold back my dog. The braid (vs sewn or rivit) makes me feel more secure about strength. It is one of the few leather leashes that is over 6' long too. The extra length is nice. Leash comes nicely wrapped in a box. Leash does not get sticky or stiff and I have used it for several months. I have bridles that leather is over 20 years old.
