The scale on both the tension and deflection are stickers... Depending on how many belts you tension per year if it is heavily used you might get a year of use.. **Q: are the inches of span graduations and pounds graduations etched into the metal or are they stickers? thanks in advance** A: They are stickers. Not etched. They can wear off. If they are used extensively I have had the numbers wear off. **Q: Does it come with a chart with the proper tension for a belt?** A: It does.. I would suggest getting a set of sheave and belt gauges to go along with it. **Q: It is the scale marking to be painted or engraved instead of paper sticker?** A: The tension checker has an imprinted scale for span length and scale for force to depress the belt.
