## Description

iCrimp Open Barrel Terminal Crimping Tool for Molex Style DELPHI AMP TYCO Deutsch Terminals Crimper, Molex Crimping Tool,24-14 AWG - desertcart.com

Review: Not Perfect But Worked Well - This crimper works very well. I wanted to give it four and a half stars because it's not perfect. The notches for a couple of the crimp sizes do not line up perfectly, therefore you need to hold on to the PIN that you are crimping very tightly and make sure it does not rotate as it is crimped. See the photos I included. I also learned that it was easier to start with the size just larger than the one you need to make a firm crimp to begin the tab rotation of the pin and then step down to the smaller size section and squeeze it really hard. Also note, it only crimps one section of the wire at a time. This is good because not all of the step down type of crimpers are spaced properly for all of the types of connectors that you will be using. I crimped the bare wire section first. Then I pulled it to make sure it was tight before crimping the section with the insulation covering it. We were installing a sound system on a boat and it plugged right in and perfectly played. This tool is basic, sturdy and less expensive than others I've seen. I recommend it.
Review: Nice - I've been using these electrical crimp pliers regularly for wiring projects, and I have to say, they’re an essential tool for anyone working with connectors. A good pair makes all the difference between a solid, professional connection and a frustrating, unreliable one. Build Quality: The pliers I use have a sturdy, all-metal construction with ergonomic, rubberized grips. They feel solid in the hand and provide enough leverage to crimp firmly without much effort. The ratcheting mechanism ensures consistent pressure, which helps avoid over- or under-crimping. Performance: They handle a variety of connector sizes, especially insulated terminals, non-insulated connectors, and sometimes even ferrules. The color-coded dies or indicators are very helpful for matching the correct wire gauge. Crimps come out tight and secure every time, with minimal deformation of the connector. Ease of Use: After a little practice, the process is quick and intuitive. Insert the terminal and wire, squeeze until the ratchet releases, and you’re done. The tool locks in place until the crimp is complete, which helps prevent half-done crimps. Downsides: Some cheaper models may have misaligned jaws or inconsistent ratcheting, so it's worth investing a bit more for a reliable brand. Also, while versatile, one crimper may not cover every type of terminal—so a multi-tool or interchangeable die set can be useful if you're working with a variety of connectors. Overall: Electrical crimp pliers are a must-have for clean, strong, and professional wire terminations. A good-quality pair saves time, prevents electrical issues, and makes your work look top-notch. Highly recommended for DIYers, auto techs, and electricians alike.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will this work for the metri-pack 480?**
A: Yes, it works for the metri-pack 480 connectors.

**Q: There are multiple terminals covering the same wire gauge. are they all in awg? which terminals are for the wire, and which are for the insulation?**
A: Not sure if I understand the question correctly, but I think you're asking 2 different things. The wire needs to be stripped back then inserted into the terminals, after you put the boot on the insulation of the wire. There's a video on the Amazon crimper page that shows it being a 2 step process. You crimp the wire first then the part that goes around the boot and insulation. As to AWG wire gauge I've gone as big as 16 on these terminals and as small as 22. It takes practice to get a good crimp

**Q: Will this work on delphi packard gm 56 series and 59 series terminals ?**
A: Yes

**Q: Will this tool work for the gm micro pack series terminals sku# 5841c ?**
A: Yes it will.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ wire doesn't get stuck in the dies
*by O***V on May 24, 2026*

super cheap but work amazingly great, wire doesn't get stuck in the dies but can only crimp one part of the terminal at a time. it doesn't have the squeeze lock so you have to keep pressure on it if your screwing around trying to get the wire in the terminal
