Review: Very good attempt to recreate the look, excellent value - You'll never find flex that really looks like the old stuff (yes I do remember it well) but which meets modern safety standards. But this is very close in appearance, although black rather than brown as was often then the case back in the day. The only real negative: because the individual cores are pvc-clad (hidden by the braiding) they are not as flexible as the rubber (or even silk) in the old days and it's difficult to get all the kinks out - a heat gun will help once you've got it where you want it. I use it with a couple of Vintage Industrial Hanging Lights I bought from desertcart a few years ago (may not still be available, sadly) and it looks the business, so much better than the flex they come with. Great value for this quantity, too.

You'll never find flex that really looks like the old stuff (yes I do remember it well) but which meets modern safety standards. But this is very close in appearance, although black rather than brown as was often then the case back in the day. The only real negative: because the individual cores are pvc-clad (hidden by the braiding) they are not as flexible as the rubber (or even silk) in the old days and it's difficult to get all the kinks out - a heat gun will help once you've got it where you want it. I use it with a couple of Vintage Industrial Hanging Lights I bought from amazon a few years ago (may not still be available, sadly) and it looks the business, so much better than the flex they come with. Great value for this quantity, too.

The quality is solid, the braiding looks smart, and it’s priced well for the length you get. Ease of Use It’s very easy to strip and attach, which makes it ideal for DIY lighting work. No issues with fraying or awkward insulation — everything cuts cleanly and connects neatly. Craft & Lamp Projects I use different colours of this cable for different lamps, and the silver one works especially well for industrial or modern‑style builds. It’s flexible enough to route through fittings but still feels durable. Delivery & Reliability Arrived quickly, well packaged, and exactly as described. I’ve had no problems with it during use. Videos Included I’ve attached videos showing the cable in use on my projects, and you can see how tidy it looks once fitted.
