Two of them have done lab report projects having to do with bacteria. One was testing different cleaners against raw chicken, and the other was testing the 5 second rule with different surfaces. These petri dishes have been great to grow our results. What I have done for incubation is set them in a Styrofoam cooler on it's side and have it near a space heater. The heater did not run constantly, but it was enough to allow the colonies to grow. Both times ordering, nothing came damaged or contaminated. I would trust it again. More than 5-6 small spots of mold after two days is supposedly an indicator of high mold levels in your house.
