Review: Purchased as an alternative - I purchased this lock along with a similar lock to replace a broken lock on my desk drawer. The other lock was a better replacement for my desk drawer. This lock appears to be very well made. There is an assortment of different locking tabs to suit different applications. It is packaged securely in a blister pack. I have decided to keep it for future use.

A: It will fit most.  You will still need to measure yours and check the dimensions needed and what sort of clearances your specific filing cabinet will accept.

**Q: What is 1 1/8"?**
A: It is the length of the threaded body. That is the maximum thickness the lock will go through. The hole can be less than 1 1/8" deep since the threads run the entire length of the lock and you can just run the nut further onto it.

**Q: What size hole do I need to make?**
A: 3/4".

I purchased this lock along with a similar lock to replace a broken lock on my desk drawer. The other lock was a better replacement for my desk drawer. This lock appears to be very well made.
