The Fool's Pilgrimsge / Stephen Hoeller Is  written  by a life- long scholar of Gnosticism and ancient wisdom-  It is the best I have come across on this subject  - and much more  likely to penetrate and offer an immediate experience - which is how true knowledge is conveyedIt takes seriously, the work of inner reflection and active imagination - so valued by  depth psychologist C G Jung with whose work  Dr Stephen iHoeller is very familiar indeeed ( "The Gnostic Jung" is written by himThe illustrations are excellent - there is also a CD of meditations included / but it is the scholarly  insight and directness of the text throughout which is exceptionalThis is not the stuff of popular magazines and lightweight fortune- telling it has real depth and immediacy and if it leads you to the Gnostic tradition ( an earlier slanton Christianity) so much the betterSelf reflection was never needed more than now - here is a vehicle  to take you thereStephen Hoeller is an exceptional teacher - (advice  given within to the cards used in the book )If Tarot is unknown to you this is a superior introduction / if you want to take a fresh look at a surprisingly good means of self examination, you will not be disappointedAs Socrates famously said "The un-examined  life is not worth living " Barbara Passlow

No CD even though I paid for a new copy that even says "includes CD of meditations" on the cover. However I'm still delighted with the book itself! The texts of the meditations are complete and well written. Am looking forward to many astral adventures. Not bad book at all.
