The wheels regularly would basically get snagged in the carpet and I would have to stand to and physically lift the chair, so I decided to give some new wheels a try. These are essentially just rollerblade wheels(w ball bearings) on a swivel and they work phenomenally well compared to what comes stock with office chairs. As others have need installing is a breeze, just repeat the same process you used when installing the stock wheels.Once I got the new wheels on, sat down to see if I could actually live around in the chair just using my legs without the carpet causing problems - yep, I can finally move around without constantly having to stand up and lift my chair. Chair glides smoothly on the carpet and on hardwood as expected (adjacent room to me is hardwood) while being virtually silent. They did raise my seat height slightly but nothing major.
