The smell diminished a little, but it was still there. I was going to use it for my bedroom computer desk, but I could smell it from my bed and there was no way I was going to smell that all the time and in my sleep. I do not know if it had harmful chemicals or just smelled strangely. I did not want to take a chance on harmful chemicals so I am getting rid of it. I had to buy a new chair at a local office store instead and I'm very glad I did.Not counting the smell, the chair would have been nice. It's a little tricky to assemble since the bottom and back are connected by the armrest. But I was comfortable sitting in it for the brief time I tried it. But the smell got on my clothes so I did not sit in it very long.I hate to write a bad review, but this chair just should not be released to the public. Maybe I got an unlucky unit, else I cannot believe more people are not having issues with this smell.
