It does make more room in the closet, but not as much as the TV ad would have you believe. I used them more for organization than for space, hung like items together, and once I was through I had gained about a foot in the closet. What I liked best is that now my clothes are not stuffed into the closet, making them impossible to find. When I tried using just the one hook for my jeans I was afraid the hook was going to break because of the weight concentrated in one place.
