Review: Bright, very white, and good adhesive, but runs warm with high current draw. - I bought these for a new motorized awning I installed. It turns out that with the 3M VHB adhesive stirp on the back, they were too thick to slide into the channel of my awning, but that's on me. I removed the VHB and they slid in very nicely. The IP68 encapsulation seems very robust too, and I don't doubt that they would withstand any weather just fine. However, I used 22-gauge wire to connect them, figuring that would be adequate, and fused it for 3 amps. (I'm an electrical engineer, and have built several LED lighting systems in the past.) After a few minutes, the fuse blew, so I started poking around. I cut about 18 inches off the end that was surplus for my rig, and connected that directly to a 12-volt power supply. That little strip drew nearly a full amp at 12.8 volts, and ran very warm to the touch. When trying to diagnose my blown fuse, I discovered that the switch I was using was faulty, causing nearly a dead short across the incoming power. Once that was replaced, the current draw fell to around 3.5 amps - rather high, but within the bounds of reason. That's around 45 watts at the nominal operating voltage of 13.5 volts, and is no doubt why the strip is so bright. It's also probably why some users have reported high temperatures. And make no mistake - the strip is *bright*! I could probably perform surgery under the awning if necessary, and the bright white color temperature (unspecified, but I'd guess around 5000K) makes it almost too brilliant for relaxing in the evenings. I may replace the strip with a warmer white version for that reason, but that's not actually a fault in the strip itself. In summary, the strip appears to be good quality, puts out plenty of bright white light, and uses a fair amount of power doing so.

**Q: do these fit in the lighting channel that hangs under the awning and can i get them in 18ft length**
A: These lights fit perfect into the pre-existing track installed on my camper. I did not use the sticky back. I installed them as they came in, then used silicone to block ends so it would not move when traveling.
 I only needed 16ft.
If you bought a longer length of lights, you can cut them at the length you need where designated.

**Q: Has anyone connected it to the existing outdoor RV light? If so is there a video?**
A: If you have the led awning lights the wire is at the top end of the awning frame against the camper and is easy to make the connection.

**Q: Does anyone know the color temperature of this strip? I bought it and love it, but want to replicate the temp with other lights.**
A: 6k

**Q: Do they come in longer lengths or can you connect two 16' pieces together.  My awning is 19'**
A: I do not know if they come longer lengths.  Probably not. However you can connect them together with connectors sold on Amazon.  Search "WENHSIN 10Packs 4-Pin RGB LED Light Strip Connectors".  I have not used or purchased the connectors as my awning space was shorter.  Since the LED Light strip came with wire "pigtails" on both ends, I wired the leftover 30" piece over my outside grill area with separate switch for it, very handy.  Hope this helps.  Strip is very bright.

The Tape that comes with these lights to install it is absolutely useless. There is no stick to it whatsoever. The little clamps to install works great. I had to buy 3 M tape. They are easy to connect for power and do look great. How long they'll last is hard to say.
