If we get tired of it in the living room then we just stand it up in the corner of a bedroom or closet. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Great Beam, Shaky Delivery *by D***R on February 23, 2011* I'll start by saying that if it wasn't for strange issues, (don't know whether to label them quality control or customer service) this would easily be a five star review. The beam itself seams very sturdy, and the suede covering is soft and also seems like it will absorb some wear from my two daughters, but of course only time will tell. The strangeness is this: After receiving the beam from FedEx, we noticed the box was in horrible shape, so it made me fear for the beam. Sure enough, the suede was torn. I called the Beam Store immediately and the person I spoke with kindly shipped a replacement IMMEDIATELY with no fuss, which I thought was great customer service. I placed the damaged beam in the box and placed it on the porch for a FedEx retrieval, which was also setup by the Beam Store person. The problem came when I received the 2nd beam; it came without the feet. I called the Beam Store and they said I should have kept the feet from the damaged shipment.....but NOBODY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO. I requested that the feet be shipped immediately; the store said they were overnighted.....should have arrived today, we'll see if they come tomorrow. Also, and more curiously, it was wrapped SIGNIFICANTLY more securely than the first beam, which made me wonder why the first wasn't wrapped this way. Inside the box, the first beam was uncovered/unwrapped and sat unsecured in a cardboard half-sleeve. The second beam was covered in bubble wrap, lying in, and taped to, a cardboard half-sleeve, and all of that was wrapped in a particle-board type shell. Maybe the 2nd beam was wrapped this way as a reaction to my complaint, but I didn't get that impression. It sorta made me think that the first beam was someone's returned item that was reboxed and sent to me, and the 2nd beam was what normal "new" beam shipments are supposed to look like. In trying to describe it, think of a corn-dog in a paper sleeve in a pop bottle in a Reynolds Wrap box (2nd beam), versus a naked hot dog in a paper sleeve in a Reynolds Wrap box (1st beam). Sorry, that's the best analogy I could come up with..... :-) Probably obvious, but I'll mention it anyway; it came in one 8-foot box and it's weight plus the length make it an awkward one-person carry. Also, the Beam Store isn't open on the weekends, but my Saturday call was returned promptly on Monday. My girls loved the beam when they saw it, they really enjoy playing on it, I have no regrets about buying it, just wish it would have been smoother.
