The case works really well for drops on it's back and corners and I've had no damage from those incidents at all. Only complaint is that the edge of the case is lower than the face of the screen so I'd recommend buying a screen protector with it if you want to be extra safe. ( I wasn't and I paid the price with a small-ish crack in the corner of my screen. No big deal to me but could be important for others).It appears to be the same quality as my first and after about a month I've been very satisfied with it. It fits perfectly around the phone and doesn't obscure the screen. The flat back makes it ideal for sticking things to (loop rings and such). It doesn't have any "extra" built in features, which is perfect for me.The branding on it is super tiny, and fits between the cameara and the edge of the case. It doesn't SAY anything, and is just the little speck logo. another plus in my book.Now we get to the reason for the low rating: The Samsung Galaxy S8 features a microphone on the bottom edge near the charge port, it looks like a little pin hole. The ruberized material almost entirely blocked this hole, and it took many "i can't hear you" phone calls to make this discovery. Because of the ruberized material, and the location of this hole, it is beyond hard to get at to cut it away. Can't use a hobby knife because it's rubberized and just bounces. Can't use scissors because they are too big and don't fit.
