The leaves were all pressed together, and I had to manually separate each one. This took about half-hour for all 300-leaves. I noticed that there was indeed a "shrimpy" smell to them. It wasn't overbearing, but it was definitely there. After placing the leaves out, I let them air out for a few hours. When I came back, the smell was only noticeable if you literally placed the leaf underneath your nose. Otherwise, the smell was negligible. I have a very sensitive nose, so if the smell didn't bother me, it will not bother you. The leaves came in about 6 main shades ranging from different shades of red, yellow, brown colors. They were very detailed, and although you could tell they were fake, they still did the job perfectly. Overall, 300-leaves was enough for my needs. They have a realistic look with the print and the texture that was stamped onto them. The fish smell people are talking about is there when you open it. I just aired mine out and they smell fine now. I'm only giving these 4 stars because the bright red leaves in both packs that I bought had no texture. They just look like cheap frayed fabric cut outs. We, unfortunately, won't be using the unstamped leaves.
