Spot welded together - Good Quality. Spot welded together. Haven't used it yet, but its pretty straight forward as to what its supposed to do. Mine fits over the 4" black stove pipe. I used pliers to carefully bend inward the black stove pipe just a little. Then this cap goes over that pipe and pushes down for a nice solid fit. You can even secure it more with a couple of self-tapping screws or high heat foil duct tape.
