A Springfield 1911 A1 fits OK but the holster is loose enough that the 1911 sometimes hangs up when drawing it out. And, it is a little bit noise due to being somewhat of a loose fit. My pistol has the under rail but that doesn't make any difference. This holster could be made to fit a little tighter but other than this, I like this holster as it is similar to another that I have for another model of handgun which it fits in Quite Well.
