QUite often I've used an awl and a hammer but that isn't really satisfactory. I needed to punch a new hole in a nice watch strap and so looked for a leather punch tool. This one from HimaPro seemed to do the job.It is a punch with six individual spokes of different sizes. It is built like a tank and punches through leather very easily. The spokes are a bit stiff to twist to different positions but that makes sense as they don't want to slip in use.
