Northwest Tops is a family run business located outside Portland, Oregon. All their tops are machined using high precision repurposed educational CNC Lathes which are then finish by hand and packaged from their home shop. Using quality materials and simple designs they create fun, well balanced & long spinning tops.

All their tops are machined using high precision repurposed educational CNC Lathes which are then finish by hand and packaged from their home shop. Using quality materials and simple designs they create fun, well balanced & long spinning tops.
- Named after the Yakima Valley which products 96% of all 'hops' in the USA. As they're typically family owned and independant, NW Tops considered this a great name!
- Weighing on average 38 grams and measuring just over 19mm wide with a height of 33mm. Each Yakima is turned from solid Copper, Stainless Steel or Brass and includes knurling at the grip and a Ceramic (Silicone Nitride) contact point. This top spins between 3-5 minutes and finishes whirling on its side. Check out Yakima on YouTube for a plus 4 minute spin.
- The contact point is Ceramic, Ceramic (Silicon Nitride Si3N4) bearings are used for the longest and smoothest spin times! This is possible because they are virtually frictionless and lighter than Steel or Tungsten. In rare cases if dropped it is possible for them to shatter so some care is needed when selecting this contact point. They are also used in applications ranging from championship Tour de France cycling teams to the engines on the space shuttle!
