The material on the strap is nice and soft and even with their width, the edges don't irritate my neck. I really like the breakaway snap latches, and the additional key ring was a great addition (I hooked my Chums wallet to it for when we returned to the boat after an excursion so I could have my ID handy for security). I was a bit skeptical about the alligator clip on the retractable ratchet bit and the fact that that was how it connected to the lanyard, but it actually turned out to be one of my favorite features - you just clip it on the ring, flip it up, and voila!By nature I do a LOT of research into anything I decide to buy, and I spent several hours looking for cruise lanyards before I settled on these. I am fully satisfied with the purchase and got a lot of value out of them.
