It worked decently well on my 5 year old's fine, wavy hair, but didn't initially work at all on my long, straight, coarse, Asian hair. My hair kept slipping out before I roll it up completely. The bands are also too sensitive- if you touch them wrong, they curl up before you are ready- this was a problem both with my daughter's hair and with my hair. That said, I was finally able to get them to work reasonably well by putting my wet hair in a pony tail and rolling it up after that. Price is good and once it's finally in, it seems to stay pretty well, so I can live with it. Depends how much you care about all that and what look you are going for. Im sure if you have very thick hair on the top of your head it won't pull on your hair as much. I've noticed that it takes hair out when i take it out. I get headaches easily with my hair being pulled while it's up. I feel like thats my biggest problem with it.
