Review: Finally! A rinseless wash product that can compete with ONR! - UPDATE: This product continues to impress me every time I use it. I still love ONR and I will always have it around...but every time I go to do a wash I end up reaching for Absolute. The slickness, cleaning power and clean/easy wipe off just can't be beat. I'm seeing some negative reviews on here, and I can honestly say that I just don't understand where those people are coming from. Some complain about smearing/streaking while drying...that has not been my experience. I suspect that their towels may be dirty, or have been sealed with whatever they have used as a drying aid/topper. I maintain my towels religiously with Rags To Riches, and I have had zero problem with smearing/streaking. Even at 64:1 QD ratio, anything left after wiping flashes away within seconds. I even use 64:1 as a general household cleaner (windows, mirrors, stainless appliances, etc) and eyeglass cleaner and I have never had it streak yet. Other reviewers complain about the thickness. True...it takes more effort to mix (warm water helps immensely) but I've never had any issues getting it to mix with just a little bit of effort. Also, make sure to gently swish the bottle prior to pouring. If mixing up a gallon of solution in a jug, do not vigorously shake it. All it needs is maybe 30 seconds of gentle rocking back and forth (or gentle swirling in the bucket). If this product is shook too harshly it will create air bubbles that the polymers will cling to and not allow it to disperse properly. For me, a little extra mixing time is a worthwhile tradeoff for superior lubrication and results. Original Review: I've used Optimum No-Rinse for a very long time, and it has never let me down. I've tried a bunch of the other ones on the market too, and there are some decent ones, but none could make me change away from ONR. While some may have had stronger cleaning abilities, or felt slicker on the surface...they also had bigger shortcomings. Some are just a diluted soap or surfactant, others are just a concentrated detail spray. None of them could check all the boxes that ONR did...until now. P&S Absolute takes all the positive attributes of ONR and matches or surpasses them. Things I've noticed immediately are the increased slickness (it also feels/looks more "substantial" in the bucket), and a noticeable increase in cleaning power. It breaks down and encapsulates dirt, bugs and grime even faster and more effectively than ONR. ONR was no slouch in either of those aspects, but Absolute takes it up another notch. The smell is also intoxicating, and it is a very pleasant and easy product to use. The wipe off while drying is excellent, and I don't even feel the need to spray an additional drying aid or topper. That can certainly be done as well, but it certainly is not required. I know people are instantly going to compare this to McKee's N914 as well...as that is another rinseless wash that is very hyped up. I have tested N914 extensively, and while I did notice a slight edge in slickness and cleaning power as compared to (pre-2020/2021 reformulation) ONR, it also had two big drawbacks in my experience. First off, it held dirt in suspension instead of letting it fall to the bottom of the bucket. Because of this, I would only wash a car with N914 with a two bucket method (to remove dirt from my wash media) or with the multiple towel method. The other main drawback of N914 was the lack of water softening ability. If you use it with hard tap water, any solution that is left to dry on the surface will leave hard water spots and etch the paint if not removed quickly. For this reason, I will only use N914 with distilled or DI water. P&S Absolute takes the cleaning power and slickness of N914 and bumps it up to another level, while retaining all of the positive ONR qualities...including pushing dirt to the bottom of the bucket and preventing hard water spots. N914 advocates also like to talk about how it "leaves nothing behind." I would argue that it is leaving something behind (be it remnants of a surfactant/detergent or whatever else it is made of), but I would clarify that it leaves nothing behind that would interfere with what you're going to do with the surface afterwards (just like ONR or Absolute). Any product that is only wiped away (other than something that is an alcohol/solvent) is going to leave "something" behind...even N914. Whether you are going to polish and coat it (first using the prep spray recommended by the coating manufacturer), or just apply a sealant or wax...anything left behind by N914, ONR or Absolute is not going to impact that process. The tiny amount of polymers remaining from a "polymer" rinseless wash like ONR or Absolute is easily removed by any compound, polish, prep spray, or the carrier agents of any wax or sealant. As for those polymers being left behind on a coated car, that is a non-issue as well. Most coatings are designed to resist harsh acid and alkaline cleaners, a little pH neutral polymer wash solution isn't going to affect it in the slightest. Only SI02 type products can bind with coatings (or other polysiloxane type products that can quickly form a mesh over them) can really stick to coatings. Anything else "left behind" should be quickly shed by the coating. I think P&S has really done their homework here and created a rinseless wash that meets or exceeds the standards set by the other popular products on the market...and they have done so from the ground up using completely new chemistry that is different than anything else. While I won't be throwing my ONR away, I will definitely be keeping P&S Absolute in my regular rotation. EDIT: In response to reviewer "Power T" who is comparing the slickness left behind with products like EcH2O, Wolfgang SIO2 rinseless, and ONR Wash and Wax (green). That is an apples to oranges comparison. All three of those products are leaving substantial protection behind (in the form of SIO2 or carnauba wax) that Absolute is specifically designed not to do. Absolute can be used in ways where you specifically would not want to leave protection behind; claying before polishing, cleaning interiors, or washing after polishing in preparation of using a coating prep and applying a coating. If you are using Absolute in the form of a maintenance wash and you want to leave additional protection and slickness behind, you can do so by spraying Bead Maker (or your topper of choice) onto the freshly cleaned panel prior to drying.
Review: I am pleasantly surprised - As a mobile detailer I am constantly looking to improve new products that can help me in my work. I specialize in waterless washes and detailing, so I am already using great products for that, however, I saw a review on this looking for something else and I thought it seemed awesome especially considering it only needed a half an oz to a gallon to work its magic. That is a great ratio financially, when you do this every day you cabn imagine the money going out for various products, and usually with something like this I see a "hyped" up and overpriced product that barely work or at least doesn't do any better than the rest so I tend to ignore it. This product however, I already "know" the manufacturer and I have a few products of theirs that I am very impressed by so I figured it was worth it to try it, this product is fairly priced in comparison, especially considering the dilution ratio. So, I have tried this on several cars now with different levels of "dirtiness", I have weekly maintained cars that only had some pollen dust on it basically, to monthly maintained cars that has accumulated a bit more that pollen dust and created a bit of "layered" dirt on it and today I actually had a car with "showered" sap on it, you know the type sap that has sort of been misted on top of the car and not dripped on it. So, on all of this cars , most of them black I should add, I have generously sprayed the cars down with the product using a power sprayer, I also chose to use a different method from how you normally use a "Rinse-less" wash product, I used it as I use my "Water-less" products, the difference is not that great, for a rinse-less wash you normally use a bucket of water and your favorite wash-mitt or sponge and soak it up to wash the car, rinse and wash etc,. a water-less you normally spray the car with the product and you would just wipe off the dirt with multiple rags, the formulas are designed in such a way that it "lifts" the dirt differently and allows you to wipe off the dirt with your microfiber towel. So, this is the method I used with the rinse-less, I just used moist microfiber towels, so instead of rinsing off the debris from a wash-mitt I just replace the towel and go over the entire car and you will get pretty much the same results. So what is the results? Well, I have to say I am impressed, I mean I like the stuff I am already using but I like to have alternatives, I am also pretty loyal to my brand, they make awesome products, but not to a fault, if I found a good product that can either beat or be the same as what I already use but to a better price I will switch. This rinse-less handled all these cars just great, I normally don't use deonized water to mix the products so in some hot sunny weather you might need to be a bit cautious to avoid water-spots, I did one car in semi hot weather condition, not really working in the sun but still a pretty hot day and the product "neutralized" the water good enough that I need to rush the dry process, most of the car in fact dried on its own without creating a water-spot, and the few places that had a runny spot I just misted a bit and dried off spotless. I almost felt like I could skip the toppers on these cars after using this, if dried properly after use it comes out slick and a tad bit glossier almost like you already used a detail spray on it. It does have a polymer base so this can actually be used as a detail spray, or a clay-bar lubricant, I haven't tried that yet, but I know if it can wash the car safely it can definitely be used for clay lubrication. The manufacturer state that this can be used on interiors as well, I have only used it a little bit on the inside door trims and it seems to work but I do have a different product for this that is designed to take care of the interior, by the same manufacturer as coincidentally. This might be my new "water-less" option from now on, the other stuff I use is absolutely great, I am not knocking it, this product is not necessarily better, however, the dilution ration compared with pricing gives this product an edge, I use maybe 4-6oz on the other product to a gallon, this product you can use 1 half of an oz, that said, I like to mix my stuff a tad bit stronger so I just used a full oz to the gallon but that still makes it cheaper in the long run, pricewise the gallon price is close to the same, I think this product might actually be $3-$4 cheaper by the gallon than the other product I use, so that is a win. Mixing this product is a tad bit different from most others, still not a drawback, all you need to do is to add it to your container and either give it a gentle stir for a few seconds until it dissolves or close the lid and give the jug/bottle a little shake or turn it upside and down a few times until it dissolves, easy peasy. I don't usually stick my nose in to any chemicals for obvious reasons, but I couldn't help notice while mixing this, the pleasant and low-key hint of coconut, it smells great. Will I recommend this product, absolutely. Follow the instructions and just take it slow if you are uncertain, either rinse the sponge often or switch towels like I do and this will give you the same results you would from a water-based wash with shampoo, but without the rinse. Obviously heavily soiled cars might need a prerinse with water, but for regularly maintained cars it will work great and the price is fair, so far.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have already ordered a gallon but just for my information if asked by customers or detailing friends is the polymer zwitterionic like ONR is?**
A: Dave Phillips (the chemist that created Absolute) said on the The Rag Company's Q&A that it is amphoretic...which apparently is very closely related to zwitterionic. From my usage, I would say that it performs incredibly similar to ONR in how it encapsulates dirt and separates it from the surface, how it pulls back together on the surface after wiping, and how it drops dirt to the bottom of the bucket.

That said, it feels much more slick on the surface. If you've ever been pushed the limits of ONR and used it on a very dirty surface...you know how it could sometimes sound and feel gritty as it drags across the surface (especially if you didn't presoak). Absolute doesn't do this, and feels much more slick.

**Q: Will the quick detailer solution stay stable and for how long can I keep it in a sprayer bottle?**
A: I received my first bottle of Absolute when it first came out 6 weeks ago. Using distilled water, I immediately mixed up one gallon of 64:1 QD dilution, and one gallon of 128:1 clay lube dilution. Both have been sitting in my cabinet (also filled a spray bottle with each) since then. The product has stayed perfectly mixed with no separation or any other problems. I always shake before use anyways, but it seems to be very stable when mixed.

**Q: Does the product leave behind any gloss enhancement or slickness after final wipe down?**
A: There are some gloss enhancing ingredients, but nothing that would last very long and no lasting slickness once dried. If you want real gloss and slickness, spray Bead Maker prior to drying. Gloss and slickness bomb!

**Q: Can you use a wash mitt with Absolute rinseless wash instead of a sponge?**
A: You can, but multiple microfiber towels (6-12) in a bucket would be safer than one microfiber mitt. Microfiber grabs and holds onto dirt, whereas the sponges are designed to release it. With a towel you can flip and fold it to have 8 separate faces to clean with before switching to the next towel. I would recommend using Eagle 350's, Edgeless 365 or the Minx Royale towels from The Rag Company.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My Go-To Rinseless Wash!
*by J***S on September 13, 2025*

P&S Absolute is hands-down one of the best rinseless wash products I’ve ever used. The slickness is amazing — my wash mitt glides effortlessly over the paint, which really helps minimize the risk of swirls. It leaves the surface super clean with a nice, glossy finish. I love how versatile it is. I use it as a rinseless wash, a quick detailer, and even a clay lube when diluted properly. The dilution ratios are easy to follow, and a little product goes a long way, making it very cost-effective. Another big plus is how well it works in all conditions — whether I’m washing in the driveway or doing a water-restricted wash in the garage, Absolute gets the job done. The scent is pleasant, and it makes washing the car a more enjoyable process overall.
