The games are preloaded. SD card is only to safe the level. **Q: Are there savestates or in game saving?** A: The answer is: Yes, but it is limited. I bought one locally last night and I ran a test with Phantasy Star II, which is a JRPG and it wouldn't make any sense for it to not have an ability to save. It does indeed save. I'm guessing the other JRPGs and other games that had saves on the original console do in fact save as well. However, games that wouldn't save in the 1990s, such as Mortal Kombat, you can't save. **Q: Does it come with an AV cable?** A: No. However, the game is awesome. The game supports an 8GB SD memory card which you download Sega Genesis roms. My recommendation is to order the SD card on Amazon with the games pre-loaded which there is over 900 games and especially saves you the time from having to download them yourself.
