In fact you can jam sync the two together to get 16 channels of mic inputs. Though I use both recorders, I often go for the F8n for its simplicity. I can get recording very quickly without a lot of menu diving nonsense (unlike the F6 which I bought and returned). The F8n is simple to use, sounds great and is built pretty well. I did have an issue with one channel of the headphone output cutting out. Probably a bad jack or poor solder joint somewhere in the output. Zoom warranty replaced the unit no questions and so far my replacement unit has been working flawlessly. The F8 control app can be helpful, though it is not essential. ## Features - 32-bit float recording technology - 8-channel/10-track field audio recorder/mixer - Records in BWF-compliant WAV format up to 192kHz/32-bit float - 8 discrete inputs with locking Neutrik XLR/TRS combo connectors - High quality mic preamps with up to 75 dB gain and less than -127 dBu EIN ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09TQ5HVB3 | | Best Sellers Rank | #20,292 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #9 in Multitrack Recorders | | Brand | Zoom | | Brand Name | Zoom | | Compatible Devices | Camera | | Country of Origin | China | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 84 Reviews | | Digital Recording Time | 8 hours | | Format | WAV | | Hardware Interface | Secure Digital Card | | Importer Contact Information | 2040 Express Drive South #500, Hauppauge NY, 11788 | | Item Type Name | Portable Studio Recorder | | Item Weight Unit of Measure | 1.8 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | 2040 Express Drive South #500, Hauppauge NY, 11788, Zoom | | Manufacturer Contact Information | 2040 Express Drive South #500, Hauppauge NY, 11788 | | Manufacturer Part Number | F8n Pro | | Memory Storage Capacity | 1 TB | | Microphone Form Factor | Built In | | Microphone Operation Mode | Stereo | | Model Number | F8n Pro | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Packer Contact Information | 2040 Express Drive South #500, Hauppauge NY, 11788 | | Screen Size Unit of Measure | 2.4 Inches | | UPC | 884354026158 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 1 Year - Replacement | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Zoom - **Compatible Devices:** Camera - **Format:** WAV - **Hardware Interface:** Secure Digital Card - **Microphone Form Factor:** Built In ## Images ![F8n Pro Professional Field Recorder/Mixer, Audio for Video, 32-bit/192 kHz Recording, 10 Channel Recorder, 8 XLR/TRS Inputs, Timecode, Ambisonics Mode, Battery Powered, Dual SD Card Slots - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71jDKsSYBmL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: How many U's of space would this take on a rack mount shelf?** A: The Zoom F8n Pro is 2.25 inchs high, 1U = 1.75 inchs so about 1.5 u space would give you enough space to slide it into a rack shelf. **Q: But can it record 32 bit integer? 🤔** A: It records 32 bit float. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐ Regular *by I***Z on 23 December 2024* No es posible que no puedan facturar es una tontería ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great multi-track field recorder *by M***K on 1 September 2025* I have both the F8n Pro and the Sound Devices MixPre10II and use them both for field recording as well as voice over and live classical performances.
