**Q: Can you hook up a speed control to this booster?**
A: No you do not want to use a speed controller. You will burn this motor out in days. You want to use speed controllers on centrifugal fans, not booster fans. The motor is ment for the rated voltage, nothing more nothing less. Please don't listen to the comments saying speed controllers are compatible with this booster fan.

**Q: Would this fan properly vent a 1000w hps lamp?**
A: I am cooling two 600 W HPS lamps with a single fan and it works well

**Q: Will it overheat with a flow blockage?**
A: Very small motor like a bathroom exhaust fan. Will not overheat because not an air tight situation.

**Q: I could definitely hook this up on a timer, but is it okay if the fan happens to run when the AC is not? (Context, booster for one of my bedrooms)**
A: If the AC fan is not running,  the duct fan will *tend* to draw air from registers in other rooms rather than through the idle ac unit.  So, it will still work to equalize temperatures between rooms,  which is likely your goal.   On the negative side,  it will be drawing from the ceilings,  the hottest part of the rooms.

This works excellently as an exhaust ventilation fan. It is powerful enough that it pulls the tent walls in very well, so it definitely moves a good amount of air.It is not terribly quiet, but it is also very powerful, so that is the trade-off. There is no built-in timer, but I used it with a smart outlet when I wanted to give it a break now and then.Recently, I have had it running pretty much nonstop for the last few weeks with no issues. Overall, I would highly recommend it if you need a strong inline duct fan for ventilation.
