Using the 5-step system (of which the 5th is this sunscreen) along with a couple of the supplemental products has gotten rid of my moderate to severe eczema on my face and has brightened my complexion. I no longer need a foundation to cover flaws. It takes about 3 months to reap the benefits of the line, but the results are amazing. Of all the products, this one is probably the most underwhelming. It's a sunscreen, it protects your skin. It's nothing special as far as sunscreen goes. It is rather thick and takes a while to soak in and get rid of that "greasy" feeling. Also, the bottle pump stops working when there is heaps of product left on the bottom, so you have to unscrew the lid to scoop up the last 10-15% of it. I use it because I no longer need foundation which often has the sunscreen built in. Also keep in mind that this is a chemical sunscreen, not a physical one like titanium or zinc based ones. On the upside, it lasts forever because you only use it in the morning unlike the rest of the line which is twice daily. So I recommend to pick up the whole line including this item, and try it out. If the sunscreen doesn't impress you, get a foundation with SPF in it or select another facial sunscreen for daily use but stay on the rest of the line. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Somme Saved My Skin - 10 years later still using *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2012* Around my mid-30's I started getting some adult acne-the painful ones. I happened upon this line in a boutique and they said it targeted women with my issue (among other things) and I bought the travel pack to try it out. I couldn't believe the changes to my skin. I have sensitive skin, and most of the popular expensive lines either had too much fragrance or caused me to break out. This line is PERFECT--no side effects and it does what it says. But it's true that at first your skin will purge the impurities and you may have a period of adjustment before it's smooth. My adult acne went away and has never come back. I use the double defense cream for day time - don't be alarmed if your skin is sensitive to it at first--after a week or so, you won't feel it. Just keep it away from your eyelids, that's where people have the most issues. I love it because it has great sun protection, and soaks in nicely so I can put makeup on right after. At night I use the pads, the serum, and the night cream. I am serious when I say my skin looks no older than 30 and I'm 46. I will never switch. It's worth the money and a little goes a long way. I recommend going to their website and reading more. Caution, I would only order it from a couple places -- Amazon (of course) from only reputable sellers and one major department store, or I guess you could order from Somme. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Could use a better dispenser *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2013* I started using the Somme products six months ago and just ran out of my first bottle of Double Defense this week. Well, I say "ran out," but what I actually mean is "I couldn't get any more out of the pump." By turning the bottle upside down and unscrewing it each morning (leaving it upside-down all day) I've gotten at least an extra week's worth of product out of the bottle and it seems like I might get 2-3 more weeks out of it. (I only use Somme in the mornings.) I'm hoping this does the job; it's hard to tell, with sunscreen. I don't look tan, so that's a good sign :-)If this product could be marketed in a tube, perhaps, instead of a pump bottle, it would be easier to get that last batch of goo out. Or a wide-mouth pump jar, so that it would be easy to reach in with your fingers and scoop out the last bits.
