I am using these with the Yakima Skyline and the Yakima Landing Pad 15. These will primarily be used with Yakima bike carriers. I previously used Yakima round bars with a fairing to cut wind noise. I cannot take the fairing through my local car wash and got tired of removing them. After reading reviews I bought the Jetstreams.The initial installation is straightforward as with all Yakima products I have used and appear to be solid and well-made. I practiced removing the bars once installed and found the Skyline towers easy to use just as my old control towers were. Then came the test drive to answer the noise question. I drove around town and on the interstate up to 75 MPH. I was pleasantly surprised there was no more wind noise than with my factory crossbars. I have used Thule square bars and Yakima round bars for years and was never able to use them without a fairing.Perhaps wind noise may vary for different vehicles and I can only speak for the Subaru Outback.
