This way you can achieve your desired resting positionwithout clicking the switch by accident.Audible click is a must for gaming, so you're certain of the key command. The click isn't too loud, it's under the desk.Sliding around under the desk. Using the switch for its intended purpose won't make it move around.Normal moving your feet around under the desk will move the pedals, so be mindful of this,or mount the pedals on a sheet of plexiglass or plywood, if you have a tendency to shift feet aroundunder the desk.I use 5 switches under desk, 2 FS-3, 2 FS-4 and 1 FS-2. After hours of gaming, I still haven't decided which Iprefer the most. The advantage of using different switches, is that they "feel" slightly different to thefeet, thus easy to differentiate.What you buy is personal preference.
