## Questions & Answers

**Q: Which would be best to take to hospital after birth the premature flow or the standard?**
A: I used the premature teat as the hospital gave these (single use version) to me & was using in combination with breastfeeding. It is recommended to used the slowest teat to replicate breastfeeding with combination feeding. I used the reusable version for the first year or so. I have since been advised they only recommend using their reusable teats 5 times, which I find ridiculous so I’m looking for an alternative.

**Q: Description states slow flow 4ml but leaflet says 13ml. Are these slower flow or not?**
A: The Sterifeed premature reusable teat is a slow flow teat with a flow rate of 4ml per minute with tolerance +/- 2ml (Max 6ml per minute)

### ⭐⭐⭐ Failed the drip test for us so not slow flow in my opinion

These were what we were given to use in NICU up til discharge after being NG Fed. Our little int took to them but we found they failed the drip test and so even with paved feeding she was finding the amount of milk coming out quite overwhelming it caused bottle preference and now still fighting to get her back onto the breast. They can be sterilised once or twice although manufacturers instructions say not to. We bought loads in preparation for her coming home and then changed bottles altogether.
