It will reduce the amount of hard water deposits left on clothes, thus making them slightly softer. **Q: Does this remove Perfume smell?** A: It removes smelly shoe odors , and other odors so I'm sure it would probably eliminate perfume scents when used . **Q: Do you use this as a fabric softener replacement or is an every once and a while product when clothes need a freshen up?** A: This is intended to replace your fabric softener. From the description on the page: “DEEP CLEANSING FABRIC RINSE: Downy Rinse & Refresh replaces your liquid fabric softener and acts as a laundry detergent booster…” They don’t tell you how much to use but it’s not a lot. I learned through trial & error, you only need about a capful, if that. It’s also VERY sticky so if you use too much or spill a drip somewhere you’ll want to wipe it up right away, or add an extra rinse cycle. **Q: Anyone else notice suds in the rinse cycle once this product was dispensed? Mixing with plain water has same result, lots of suds.** A: I have used for many months and have not... until the last bottle (June 2023). I thought it was pulling reside from laundry until I added water to it in a clean container and it was all sudsy. Maybe a bad batch? ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Best Fabric Softener I’ve Found in Over 30 Years *by on Reviewed in the United States March 12, 2026* After doing laundry for decades and trying just about every brand out there, I can honestly say Downy Rinse Laundry Odor Remover is the best fabric softener and odor remover I’ve ever used. After more than 30 years of trying different products, I finally found one that truly works the way it should. The biggest thing that stands out is how well it removes stubborn odors. Whether it’s workout clothes, towels, everyday laundry, or fabrics that sometimes hold onto smells, this product really does an incredible job. It leaves clothes smelling fresh, clean, and crisp after every wash. The Ocean Mist scent is fantastic. It’s light, refreshing, and not overpowering. Instead of a heavy perfume smell, it leaves laundry with a clean, natural freshness that lasts. Clothes come out of the washer smelling amazing.Another thing I really like is that it works quickly and easily. You simply add it during the rinse cycle, and it helps break down odors that regular detergents sometimes leave behind. It complements your regular laundry detergent perfectly. The bottle size is also great, giving you plenty of uses before needing to buy another one. A little goes a long way, so it lasts quite a while. What impressed me most is that it actually delivers noticeable results. Towels feel cleaner, clothing smells better, and even items that previously held onto odors come out fresh. After trying countless laundry products over the years, this is the one that finally stands above the rest. It has become a permanent part of my laundry routine. If you're looking for a reliable laundry odor remover and fabric softener that truly works, I highly recommend this product.Hands down the best I’ve used in decades, the best softness experience! 🧺⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My new go-to fabric rinse *by on Reviewed in the United States June 13, 2026* This product is amazing. I have totally replaced regular liquid fabric softener, which can gunk up your machine, with this clean, clear, effective liquid. In addition to adding softness and a mild, wonderful scent, this rinse was able to remove nasty smells from fabrics that I thought were going to be permanent. You may know the ones - left the clothes sitting in the washing machine too long, didn't want to take the time to re-wash, so threw them in the dryer to bake in that musty smell that never comes out again even after multiple washes with all types of scent boosters. Well, this product amazingly removed all of that! I actually thought I'd have to throw away some clothes that had lingering, baked-in bad smells, but this really cured it! So now, I use a little of this clear rinse in every wash in place of thick liquid fabric softener. Fabrics come out smelling so fresh and keep that freshness for a while, without being overpowering. Highly recommend! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **LOVE IT** *by on Reviewed in the United States August 25, 2026* Color me impressed.! Downy rinse laundry Oder remover really works, it actually took old set in odor out of towels I thought would have to be thrown away!! The odor was really out not just covered up by the nice smell just to return once they got wet again. I no longer need to buy and use scent boosters like I use to do. The bad oder was gone and the greasy clean lavender stayed and smells absolutely wonderful. I will not use anything else in my laundry. I differently recommend giving it a try. ## Frequently Bought Together - Downy RINSE & REFRESH Laundry Odor Remover and Fabric Softener, Fresh Lavender, 48 fl oz, Safe on ALL Fabrics, Gentle on Skin, HE Compatible - Downy Infusions In-Wash Laundry Scent Booster Beads, CALM, Soothing Lavender and Vanilla Bean, 24 oz - Downy Light Laundry Scent Booster Beads for Washer, White Lavender, 24 oz, with No Heavy Perfumes --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/470260784-rinse-laundry-odor-remover-fresh-lavender-scent-48-fl-oz](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/470260784-rinse-laundry-odor-remover-fresh-lavender-scent-48-fl-oz) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
