I have thick straight Caucasian hair and can get these around my pony tail once (for reference) if I try really hard or wear one on my wrist if I want to be kinda squishing my circulation.I reuse each 10+ times. 3 loops around a thin girls full ponytail- closer to 6,7 loops around baby pigtails etc. that can get bulky but for me the single continuous soft elastic is worth it as they slide right out.
