It's plastic but i havnt had any issues after daily use for nearly 2 months now. It's very easy to install, it comes with double sided 3m tape. You just stick it on. I haven't tried to remove it on purpose, its stuck on very very well, you have no worry about it falling off on accident but if you want to take it off on purpose its going to be a tad different but not impossible.
