Review: Exactly what it says it should do - This is fantastic as my ring door was at-77 running off wifi - now with this TP link its now -39 , also battery on Ring door bell running out faster due to trying to get a better signal - so easy to set up So worth the money
Review: Easy to use, acceptable boost to coverage - I recently acquired the TP-Link RE700X Mesh WiFi 6 Booster to address limited Wi-Fi coverage in certain areas of my home. While not a revolutionary solution, it has demonstrably improved overall network performance. The setup process proved remarkably straightforward. The accompanying app provided clear instructions, making installation a breeze. Since implementation, the Wi-Fi signal strength has improved considerably within the house. This has resulted in a more consistent and reliable internet experience, particularly for bandwidth-intensive tasks like streaming high-definition content. It's important to note, however, that the range extension isn't flawless. While sufficient for most indoor applications, I've encountered occasional connection weaknesses with my outdoor security cameras. This suggests the booster might not be ideal for expansive properties with significant outdoor coverage requirements or thick walls. In conclusion, the TP-Link RE700X offers a dependable solution for bolstering Wi-Fi coverage within a typical home environment. For users seeking to eliminate dead zones and enhance overall network stability, this is a worthy consideration. However, those with extensive outdoor areas requiring strong connectivity may want to explore alternative solutions.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why is my internet speed much slower when connected through the range extender?**
A: Range extenders wirelessly repeat your router's signal and should be placed about halfway from it. They operate in half-duplex mode, meaning slower speeds since they can't send and receive data at the same time, unlike wired connections.

**Q: My extender connection keeps dropping or is unstable. What can I do?**
A: Unstable connections may occur due to distance, thick walls, interference (e.g. microwaves, metal, cordless phones), or outdated firmware. Move the extend-closer, avoid interference, and update firmware via Tether app or web interface.

**Q: What is AP mode and how is it different from extender mode?**
A: AP mode connects to your router via Ethernet and creates a Wi-Fi signal-ideal for faster, stable performance if you have a cable available. Extender mode wirelessly repeats your router's signal but may reduce speed due to half-duplex operation.

**Q: Can I install multiple extenders in a large home?**
A: You can connect multiple extenders, but we recommend a max of two and direct connections to the router (no daisy-chaining). Use different Wi-Fi channels to reduce interference. For better coverage, consider a Deco Mesh system with seamless roaming.

**Q: My extender doesn’t work well with Vodafone or SKY routers. Why?**
A: This isn't a compatibility issue. Some Vodafone/SKY routers send special WPS signals, making the extender create a long random password. Reset the extender, avoid WPS, and set up manually via Tether or web using the correct Wi-Fi password.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well as a WiFi extender
*by F***X on 13 February 2026*

Pretty good. Device needs a host name so you don't have to hunt the IP address it is using. Sometimes gets corrupted and even after reset does not pair well with the Vodafone Powerhub (WPS) thus need to resort to an ethernet cable. Does not mesh with the Vodafone Powerhub, but works well as an extneder sharing the same SSID. Good Power O/P and RF coupling to the Powerhub.
