Do NOT attempt to "figure it out" the day of your event. You will be frustrated, sweaty and disappointed. (Speaking from experience with previous kits I have used!) That being said, the items are easy to assemble, and the hanging elements were included. The tassels came with instructions and ribbons to hang. (I only needed to use small strips of packing tape to fasten the loops.) The poms came with hanging ribbon and the fans had hanging twine attached. It also takes 1 person at least 2-3 hours to assemble, probably longer if you put every piece together. I would recommend these, but hopefully the seller will improve on their assembly instructions!
