Review: A buttery, crispy industry standard - Voiceover hobbyist for about twenty years, here. I have a light baritone vocal quality and it plays really well with it. I run it through an UA Apollo Twin X and it sounds buttery and crisp and feels perfect for audiobook narration. I do more character than narration however, and while I am happy with the quality of this microphone, I've found myself preferring my Sennheiser MKH416. A lot of VO artists carry both in their mic locker and I have no desire to get rid of my 103. It's a staple of the industry to be sure, but if this was definitely a purchase I would not have made at full price if the two were side-by-side.

A: It’s just a style.  The color has no difference in the actual mic

**Q: Compared to the u 87, is the tlm 103 the second or so ideal choice for professional voice overs in film, animation, etc?  wherewoulditstandonthechart?**
A: absolutely! I own a professional recording studio and use it everyday in every recording for tracking voices, acoustic guitars and the results are always great!
