I agree ingredients can be confusing! Behentrimonium Methosulfate is derived from rapeseed oil and is not considered a sulphate. Hope that helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ YOU DONT NEED TO BE A SWIMMER FOR THESE BENEFITS *by S***T on June 10, 2019* I got this because I swim in the ocean and pools, but it is so much more than a swim mask! First, there is no flaking of the cream itself. Just wanted to address other reviews because I was concerned about that. TapaReef Pre-Swim Hair Mask is a creamy consistency, thicker than conditioner, more like a hair cream. I just rub a small amount, between my hands and then run it through the length of my hair (my hair is long, past my shoulders). This makes a great leave in conditioner if you have wavy or curly hair like me. If I use it as a leave-in treatment to tame the frizz I use maybe half a dime size up to a dime size, if I'm going swimming I use a tad bit more. You don't need much at all, easy to overdo if you get too excited, the same way it's easy to grab too much sunscreen, so just start with a little bit. I now use it as a leave-in conditioner on the daily because it works better at taming my wavy/curly hair than anything else I've tried. No need to reapply later in the day because this stuff works that well. I'm guessing this tube will last 6 months to a year because only a dab is used each time. YOU DONT NEED TO BE A SWIMMER FOR THIS, use it as a mask just because! ### ⭐⭐⭐ keeps the chlorine out but you DEFINITELY have to wash this product out before being back in public *by J***R on August 21, 2019* Does what it is supposed to...but note that the product forms clumps that look like big pieces of dandruff after you get done in the pool and choose to 'just rinse it' before doing errands, etc.,I made the mistake of just rinsing and coming into a bun (without looking into the mirror) before running errands this way; boy, did I get profiled as a dirty/unclean girl at the grocery store! Don't do it.As long as you have time to really wash or use a co-wash product in your hair after swimming, I think this product is fine. I put this in my hair and within seconds it clumped up and produced flakes of wax all through my hair.
