If Amazon doesn't want me to answer, they should probably stop asking. The most reliable way I have found to flash the firmware is to use the python tool ,ESPtool, that works with the ESP32 chip. More then a mile?** A: My three boards are setup with SoftRF firmware not Mestastic but the hardware is the same. They are used to track gliders, the longest range when testing was just over 20 miles. But the unit was at 3000 ft.
