Review: Solid, entry level hi end cables for better systems. - I like my cables as short as needed. I prefer a clean look, even in the back where no one else sees, without bundled or twist tied slack. It's hard to find cables between 1-3 feet. These were one of the only I could find to fit the bill. Maybe overkill for my system. Solid connectors; thick, attractive insulation; labelled for direction in vs. out. I can hear a difference between some cables. Problems are always with the free or cheaper cables, which included mono price brand in my sampling. The worst have connector fit, signal interference or sound quality issues. I've also noticed some cables can produce higher volume levels using the exact same setup, measured by dB meter and noticeable by ear. They say the best cables offer better dynamics and transition, but I haven't tried super pricey cables yet to compare. I think the best value on desertcart, price to quality and performance, is the Kabel Direkt brand. For my most basic or portable units, in case I misplace a cable on the road, I use star tech or Parts express brands of cable which are good but cheap. My good 2.1 systems under 500 total cost each get Kabel Direkt. But my best system pushing 1k in cost got these AQ Towers. I can't say the AQs sound better than the KDs, but they look nicer and are the length I wanted. The main feature in the next step up within AQ, evergreen, is the braided jacket, which I didn't feel merits the additional cost in my application. If I ever move to more expensive systems, I will probably try out proportionally priced cables. Not because it's necessary, but I already think my current main system sounds pretty awesome. Any upgrades would be in pursuit of audiophilia and at that point cost would be secondary. If you're taking the time to read reviews on these cables, you're probably already on that journey.
Review: Good quality cable. Well-engineered, albeit pricey - This is a lower end of the spectrum Audioquest cable, but that still puts it a cut above most other consumer grade cables of this kind from Monster, etc. I use one of these to connect my portable DAP to my preprocessor for SACD ISO playback, and the sound quality is noticeably better when directly A-B compared to the old generic 3.5" to RCA cable I was using. If you have a quality system and want to ensure you're maximizing performance, this is worth consideration. I use Audioquest for HDMI connects (Forest), RCA connects (Big Sur), and subwoofer cabling (Irish Red) on my main system, and the build quality really stands out compared to the competition. I do think spending big bucks on cables is definitely a textbook case of diminishing returns. But for folks with premium components and speakers that want to squeeze every last ounce of sonic goodness out of their gear, this is one of those incremental upgrades that an audiophile can put on their to-do list. 4 1/2 stars for the target audience (i.e., stereo junkies). For everyone else it's probably not worth it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid, entry level hi end cables for better systems.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice quality and a fair price.
*by G***H on December 4, 2016*

Let's get this straight. We're talking about some wire here. It's got well made connectors, and is fat enough that it's not going to kink. A patch cord, which people today think can be improved by calling it an "interconnect" needs to be able to conduct electricity from one place to another. In audio applications, it is bad if the wire is so fine or poor that it adds much resistance. No problem here, the Audioquest is very good quality. It can be a problem if the connectors don't fit well, are corroded, or made poorly so that taking them on and off will make them loose. Again, the Audioquest has none of these deficiencies. There are some that think paying a crazy amount of money for a fancy named wire will make their system sound better. While I allow that is POSSIBLE for a very top quality system, I have found that if you buy decent wires, the weak component is almost always something else. Or even more likely, your source material. So, the AudioQuest Tower does exactly what it should. Makes good connections, is not going to fall apart, and while not the cheapest, is certainly far from silly-priced. Now go out and listen to some live music.
