After I got the mattress and followed the directions to open and let it expand for many hours I placed my hands on it and pressed down into the foam.. but it didn't feel like the latex layers listed. So i unzipped the corner of the cover and used a very strong LED flashlight and placed it against the foam..there are four layers! (i can actually run my fingers along the edge of the foam to see and feel the different layers as they separate)! The top two layers are two pieces of egg crate foam with the fingers facing inside one another, then a piece of flat foam and then finally the support foam on the bottom, and so far it has only expanded to 10 inches (Used a tape measure ). This is not what is written in the description which is says " 2" inch Layer of The Best Comfort and Therapeutic Technology Latex for an Excellent Night's Sleep That can Cure Any Body Discomfort At Night." But then! goes on to say: Layers Include, 4" Inches of Latex, 4" Inches of Memory Foam and 5" Inches of Comfort Foam. I didn't have the smell issue most users had, but mine just sank on the side I'm used to sleep and now it's very uncomfortable since I have to go to the other side to try to balance but half of my body stays at the sank side. I bought a 13" just because I didn't wanted that kind of issue but I'm having it anyway.
